The Mondial du Lion remains committed : understand, mesure and act !
On World Environment Day, the Mondial du Lion reaffirms its commitment through two major actions in support of ecological transition :
👉The launch of the equine activities fresco workshops
👉And a structuring partnership with O2M, an expert in environmental and societal performance on our territory.
Two complementary initiatives support a clear ambition: to make the Mondial an international sport event that mesures up with the environmental challenges.
🌱A tool to understand and provoque change
This June 5th, The equine activities fresco offically launches its first workshops.🎉
Inspired by the climate fresco, it offers a collaborative and easy access to a better understanding of the environmental impact linked to equine activities (breeding, sport, transport, infrastructure, food …)
in 2 to 3 hours, the Fresque allows :
-
to broaden perspectives
-
Create a space for dialogue between pros and amateurs
-
Raising awareness without making people feel guilty
- Set the equestrian world in motion
🧩Based on robust scientific data, it also draws on real data from partner events. This is where it connects directly with the Carbon Audit® of the 2025 Mondial du Lion, conducted by O2M.
👉See you in October: the Fresco will be present at the Mondial du Lion 2025, with workshops open to the public, to raise awareness, exchange ideas and imagine together a more sustainable equestrian model.
📊Measuring for action: a strategic partnership with O2M
To structure this approach, Mondial du Lion has joined forces with O2M, a recognized expert in environmental impact. The aim is to make the 2025 edition, which will mark the 40th anniversary of the Mondial, a benchmark in terms of commitment to reducing our impact.
Thanks to this support, the event will :
- Carry out a complete Carbon Audit® (mobility, energy, waste, catering, etc.).
- Define a concrete plan of action to reduce and offset impacts.
- Diffuse the results in a transparent and educational way to its audiences
“This partnership is part of a long-term vision: to make the Mondial du Lion a model of international sporting event committed to transition, without sacrificing sporting excellence or the spectator experience.”
– Yves-Marie Vandamme, President of Mondial du Lion
🌿A dynamic already in motion
This partnership builds a process that has been underway for several years :
- EquuRES label – Level of Excellence
- Awarded the REEVE 2024 label
- Implementation of soft mobility (Aléop, Kuhoo.tz), waste sorting and recovery, inclusion and dialogue with local stakeholders.
This October, the Mondial du Lion celebrates its 40th anniversary. It’s the perfect opportunity to make this conviction loud and clear:
sport and the environment can move forward together.
