The FEI WBFSH World Breeding Eventing Championship for Young Horses creates a clear picture of the development within breeding because here a large number of young horses – some of the very best from the participating breed societies – each year compete under uniform conditions. Through this event valuable information is gained for the benefit of future breeding knowledge.
This championship is also a competition between the breeders and the breed societies and it gives a strong incentive for development and progress within breeding.

Furthermore, the championship creates a natural environment in which breeders and studbook representatives come together and socialise. The value of such social contact should not be underestimated – especially at a time of increasing globalisation.

From the very beginning this event has been held in Lion d’Angers on the magnificent grounds of the Haras National. The championship in 2017 promises once again to be an exciting weekend with talented young horses displaying their talents and potential in three disciplines.

I would hereby like to wish all studbooks, horse owners and riders good luck. May the competitions be fair and characterized by good horsemanship!
